Lead based paint, new Fed’ rules

What you; homeowner and remodeler, should know;
1) Effecting all homes built prior to 1978
2) Effecting all homes where children under 6 years reside
3) Effecting all daycare centers
4) Effecting Grandma’s/Grandpa’s place, weekly visits
5) Contractors/Redodelers, EPA say at least one trained worker per project
6) When project complete; follow good “housekeeping”: (a) HEPA vacuum (b) wet wipe ( 2 or 3 times), (c) dry wipe, until dust free
7) It would be advised to employ (for liability purposes) a third party to carry out post-project testing, with laboratory analysis.
Contractors should have “proper” insurance in place.

Fed cuts interest rate to 1%, 10/29/08

The Federal Reserve slashes interest rate to 1%, lowest in five years, hoping to revive the economy. The rate-cut decision was unanimous.
